Bio Signature Modulation Certified Practitioner
Where you store fat says a lot about you. Matthew recently completed the course to become one of only four certified practitioners in the area. Biosignature is the individualization of fat loss based on your hormonal profile. This highly effective system was developed by world-reknowned strength coach Charles Poliquin. Through proper diet, supplementation, and exercise, Biosignature takes the guess work out of the conventional diet and helps you reach your optimal health! Matthew offers private counseling sessions to help each client reach their dietary goals to compliment the fitness program.
Group Fitness Classes
These classes are a terrific way to lose fat, get in shape, and have fun with friends, family, or colleagues. Matt’s Boot Camp classes focus on full body strength and fitness and incorporate multiple areas of fitness. This is a fun and exciting way to also meet new people and have a lot of fun while doing it! Bootcamps combine circuit style resistance training with high intensity cardiovascular exercise, helping you to achieve your best!
Ever since a hand injury left him sidelined for a sports season in high school, Matthew has been hooked on exploring ways to improve health, fitness and performance through exercise. This passion propelled him through college, earning him a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from SUNY Brockport College in upstate NY.
After receiving his degree, Matthew became certified through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a health and fitness instructor. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Coupled with these degrees and certifications, Matthew holds over a decade of hands on experience helping others achieve their goals and reach their full genetic potential. He has spent time working with all types of clients--ranging from post-op/physical therapy, special needs clients, to elite/Olympic level athletes. His training style seeks to bridge the gap between exercise science and nutrition and its real world application.
Matthew grew up in Buffalo, NY, spent time in San Diego, CA and is now proud to call Durham, NC his home. When not training clients to achieve their best, you can find Matthew preparing for his next Strongman competition, on the golf course with friends, or at home with his wife, Alyssa, and their two dogs, Mischa and Milo.
Why Personal Training?
Results. Many people will complain that they work out three or four times per week and still can’t lose weight or get in shape. Others will copy what they see in the gym or worse yet go without direction from machine to machine hoping one day they will see the results they desire. The simple truth is that a personal trainer provides direction, focuses your goals so they can be attained, and will be a partner in helping you reach your fitness goals. Without the distractions of loud music or flatscreens everywhere you look, Matt will keep you engaged throughout your entire workout-maximizing your exercise and minimizing your time. Also, you have his full attention. There is no waiting for machines, questions from other guests, or side-lying distractions to keep you from your workout goals. You will have a fitness evaluation to determine the best course of treatment to make sure you both are on the same page. Finally, with a one-on-one session, you will be afforded quality time and privacy to discuss previous roadblocks or distractions that may have stopped you from reaching your peak potential in the past.
